The Bakugan story centers on the lives of mythical creatures called Bakugan and the Battle Brawlers who possess them.  Bakugan Battle brawlers debuted in Japan on TV Tokyo in 2007 originally consisting of fifty-one tv episodes. Nelvana Limited produced the English language version and they then premiered the series on the Canadian network Teletoon later the same year. This English series had one episode more than the Japanese series. In February 2008 Cartoon Network started airing the Bakugan series in the United States. Together with the anime series, Sega Toys and Spin Master released a strategic game, called Bakugan, using metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded miniature figures. The most recent season of Bakugan is named Bakugan New Vestroia.

In a dimension of Vestroia, a Bakugan called Naga comes to a decision to absorb the energy of the 2 cores that keep the dimensions in place . He soaked up too much of a negative energy found in the Silent Core. The Infinity Core, the positive energy core, has been soaked up with Naga's sister, Wavern.

They name themselves the Bakugan Battle brawlers and consist of 8 youngsters : Dan, Shun, Runo, Marucho, Julie, Alice, and later Masquerade and Joe.
